Coding a new software

I've been a programmer for quite some time. I've mainly only worked on small projects and have fallen away from programming entirely. I'm having to re-teach myself to program. Currently, I'm working on a PHP MySQL web service software which I will release as Open Source soon. I have some huge ambitions for this project, but I believe I will achieve most of them without outside help. I know that the way I've coded some of the things will require complete rewrite later with a completely different approach, but I just need it to work first. I've never actually written a complete software in PHP. I've only ever debugged and modified original code. I'm looking forward to seeing whether other people consider it of value.
