Recently I pulled out my ATSC USB TV tuner dongle. I purchased this thing about 4 years ago on ebay.com for about $20. At the time, I was constantly on-the-go and decided that since I was never around a TV, but frequently in front of a computer disconnected from the internet that I would purchase. Nevertheless, I managed to install all the software Windows/Linux (dual-booted system), but had serious difficulties picking up any stations. After investigating the connector more closely, I discovered that the metal sheath jacket of the connector was actually torn off and stuck inside the USB dongle. Holding it together by pushing the cable hard into the port yielded at least some sketchy results. Eventually I gave up and began becoming very busy. My ability to play around with the dongle diminished and eventually I forgot about it (not that I really forgot, but that it became extremely unimportant).

The other day, I uncovered it as I was cleaning out some drawers and decided to give it another whirl. I investigated the connector and cable types and was unable to identify the EXACT connector type, but found a port type that looks similar. I've purchased a new MMCX PCB port connector and a new MMCX to Coaxial RF cable. I now have to wait for the shipment from the China post in order to move further.

These are the items I purchased.

Hopefully, I can use this to exploit some SDR projects or even just to add to a future XBMC project with a Raspberry Pi.

Well, I received my parts. I guess I should have done a little more research. I anticipated the PCB surface mount connector to be larger. I'll be ordering some new connectors on Friday.
