Yahoo has been hit several times lately with hacks to their advertising platform resulting in Trojan downloaders infecting their visitors, as well as user account credentials being compromised. I feel they need to substantially scale back their footprint and improve the security and stability of their services or shutdown.

I recently logged into my own Yahoo Mail account only 2 or 3 days ago. What I found was that their service had become completely unusable to me. What used to be a moderately advertised free service is now a amalgamation of too many multimedia elements that rendered the website inoperable.

Many may say that my experience reflect that of the performance of my own computer, let me tell you that a Quad-Core 64-bit CPU and 16 GB of ram should not perform that poorly especially considering that I play video games, perform graphic image manipulation, play with 3D rendering software, and browse many graphically oriented websites at any given point in time.
